 In the colorful life of Arto Härkönen came a turning point after winning the Olympics in 1984. Arto became a Christian. The press told the whole Finland about it.
During the prize-giving in Los Angeles I realized I was thinking to surprise that the glory for my winning belongs to God. I got into a process where I was able to understand that the real and the deepest meaning of life does not come through outward achievements.
In Arto?s life receiving Jesus personally meant gratitude for the gifts he had received. Understanding grace gave a beginning in his mind to questions about God?s will. Arto had planned a business life but God called him to be an evangelist. "Kansan Raamattuseura" showed the way to take the Gospel everywhere and to the work that aims to the well being of the whole person based on Christian way of living.
-Christian life is full life in communion with God. Everyone needs a Savior because we fallen people have no other way to receive forgiveness of our sins and to receive the greatest gift in the world: Knowing Christ Inwardly.
